Miami Art Basel might be the most anticipated event in the city. While we’re still a long way before winter winds cools temperatures back down, Architectural Digest has released an article listing 5 hotels in Miami where guests can experience art and design year-round.

Nichols Architects expertise on luxury stays got 2 projects on that list. Nichols team worked as architects for Eden Roc on the restoration and expansion performed in 2008, soon after the hotel was incorporated in the Marriott International portfolio. On the W South Beach, Nichols Architects worked on the beautiful facade across from The Bass Museum.

Read on to see what they say about Nichols projects:

Eden Roc Miami Beach

Behind this hotel’s deco glitz and mid-century swagger lies a spirited cultural patron. Each season, the resort partners with innovative artists to enliven its historic corridors with arresting installations. For their latest exhibition, Eden Roc has tapped Nick Veasey, the pioneering British “X-Ray Man” known for his haunting X-ray photography. Wander the marble hallways and watch as legendary showbiz idols and everyday objects animate before your eyes. The X-ray exhibit offers a cerebral counterpoint to Eden Roc’s chic beach scene.

W South Beach

On South Beach’s scenester strip, W South Beach stands out as an improbable, multimillion dollar art gallery with poolside cabanas. Breeze through the sunlit lobby and be enveloped in a museum-quality contemporary art exhibition featuring original blue-chip pieces valued at a staggering $100 million. The curatorial mastermind is the hotel’s owner, with hundreds of prominent works adorning the public spaces, guest rooms and spa facilities.
