Commissioners approved on second and final reading zoning changes to allow the owners of the Fontainebleau Hotel to build a stand-alone structure with ballroom and meeting space on what is now a surface parking lot between 43rd and 44th Streets across from the main hotel campus. The five-story structure is intended to help the hotel better compete for conference and meeting business within the South Florida market. Our initial story here.

The architect is Don Wolfe, Nichols Brosch Wurst Wolfe & Associates.
