James P. Wurst received his Bachelor of Architecture Degree in 1975 from the University of Notre Dame. He became registered to practice architecture in December, 1985, as well as being certified as a General Contractor in the State of Florida in 1983.
Prior to joining Nichols Partnership (predecessor to NBWW) in 1992, Mr. Wurst provided ownership representation on projects throughout South Florida and the Northeast for various private developers At NBWW, he has been a project manager for many of the firm’s major projects, including The Ritz-Carlton San Juan, The Diplomat Resort & Hotel, One Bal Harbour, and Marriott Frenchmen’s Reef. He served as the on-site project architect for the Westin Convention Center Hotel in Providence, Rhode Island.
Mr. Wurst became a partner in 2004 and has continued to work as project executive on projects throughout Florida, the Caribbean and, recently, California. His hands-on experience with projects such as the 1,000 guestroom Diplomat Hotel has established his solid reputation for personal involvement from inception to completion.
