The Diplomat’s reopening comes at a time when tourists are returning to South Florida hotels.
The Diplomat Beach Resort in Hollywood is open for the first time since in March 2020.
The resort was designed by NBWW Architects from Coral Gables. The 1,000-room hotel, like many in South Florida at the time, closed its doors as shelter-in-place orders were issued across the tri-county region at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, unlike other hotels throughout Florida, the resort did not reopen until Tuesday.
Now, the hotel’s 1,000 guest rooms, two pools, 26 poolside cabanas, two fitness centers and 209,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space are open to the public once again. Four food and beverage concepts are open there as well. That includes the casual café Counter Point, the Latin restaurant and bar Playa, the grab-and-go eatery the Canteen and the Diplomat’s indoor and outdoor bar the Hotel Bar.
The Diplomat Beach Resort, part of Curio Collection by Hilton, is the fourth-largest hotel in the tri-county area, according to Business Journal research. It also offers the third-most convention and meeting space in the region.
