The following is a press release from the Architecture & Design Film Festival announcing a hybrid format for its 2021/2022 season. In addition to in-person festivals, private film previews, and pop-up screenings, ADFF will host a virtual program dubbed ADFF:ONLINE from Nov. 17 to Dec. 3. ADFF will not host public screenings in September and early October due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Architecture & Design Film Festival (ADFF), the world’s largest film festival devoted to architecture & design, has updated its 2021/22 season to follow a hybrid format, presenting full festivals, private film previews, pop-up screenings, and its virtual program, ADFF:ONLINE. After careful consideration, the Festival has decided not to host public screenings in September and early October for ADFF:NY and ADFF:LA due to the unpredictable nature of the pandemic and its ongoing challenges. ADFF is still planning in person events starting with ADFF:Toronto (November 3-7) and then ADFF:Vancouver (November 10-13), and ADFF:DC (January 6-9, 2022). These festivals are currently continuing as originally planned, but the Festival will remain vigilant in monitoring the recommended guidelines and protocols for each location.

The new schedule allows for ADFF:ONLINE to take place earlier in the year, kicking off during NYCxDESIGN. Originally scheduled for January 2022, ADFF:ONLINE will now take place from November 17-December 3, 2021, and will be available to audiences in the United States and Canada. The virtual program will feature ADFF’s full roster of new films for the 2021/22 season, with insightful looks into indigenous architecture, sustainable design, design visionaries from Bruce Mau to Marcel Breuer, and much more. Each film will showcase special introductions and Q&As from the filmmakers and film subjects. Available to view on demand from any device, or with APPLE TV and ROKU TV, ADFF:ONLINE offers audiences the ability to tune in to incredible films anytime, anywhere. ADFF:ONLINE will run through the Thanksgiving weekend and offers a great opportunity to enjoy a captivating roster of films with family and friends during the holiday.
